About KURDim
A Kurdish email identity with 17 years of history behind it. We would rather serve fewer people well than many people badly.
Where we come from
The kurd.im name has been ours since 2009. In 2011 we opened it as free webmail so anyone in the community could claim [email protected].
It lasted four years. Then it went the way every free email service goes. Spammers moved in. Scammers moved in. Thousands of people signed up, used an address once, and never came back. We spent more time cleaning up abuse than running a mail service, and the domain's reputation paid for it. So we shut it down. We weren't going to keep running something we couldn't stand behind.
Why we only offer paid accounts
Free email is a lie. Servers, storage, and the people running them cost money. If you aren't paying, someone else is, usually an advertiser buying access to you and your data.
Free also means anyone can sign up a thousand accounts in an afternoon and burn the servers' reputation in a week. Then your legitimate mail goes to spam because of what a stranger did.
We're not doing that again. Every kurd.im mailbox is paid for and tied to a real, registered person. That's not a pricing strategy. It's how we keep the abusers out.
We don't want millions of users. We want the right ones. If you're looking for free email, there are plenty of companies happy to sell your inbox to advertisers. This isn't one of them.
What that means for you
Europe & USA infrastructure
Your mail runs on professionally managed servers in data centers across Europe and the USA, with redundancy and routine backups.
Privacy first
We collect the bare minimum. No ads, no data mining, no tracking, and your mail is never used to train AI.
Zero tolerance for spam
Spam gets you banned. No warnings, no second chances. That's how our servers stay clean and your mail gets delivered.
A real mailbox
10 GB with full IMAP, POP, and SMTP. Use it in webmail or connect it to your phone, Mac, or PC.
Built for our community
Not everyone wants to pay online with a card, so we built a prepaid code system. Codes are available in person in Hewlêr, Silêmanî, Duhok, Kerkûk, and Kelar, and we're working on making them available across Bakur, Rojhelat, and Rojava too.
kurd.im is independent and run by people, not a ticket queue. If you have a question or just want to talk, reach us directly.
