Sponsored addresses

Many of the voices our community follows every day are still reached through a generic free-mail address with a number or a suffix attached. A short address in your own name is easier to say on air, easier to remember and easier to trust. Our sponsorship programme gives selected partners exactly that, at no cost.

Who it is for

• Radio and TV stations, newspapers, magazines and online publications
• Writers, journalists, artists, podcasters and other creators with a public audience
• Cultural, educational and community organizations, associations and initiatives

Each application is reviewed individually. We look for an established, active public presence and a good fit with what kurd.im stands for. We may not be able to accept every application.

What you receive

• A complimentary subscription for the agreed partnership period - the full service, identical to a paid mailbox: 10 GB of storage, real POP/IMAP access and our branded webmail.
• An address in your name, such as [email protected], subject to availability.
• Personal set-up help moving your public contact over, including connecting your existing mail apps.
• Optional recognition - with your permission, we may name you as a kurd.im partner.

What we ask in return

• Use your @kurd.im address as your main public contact: in your social media bios, on your website's contact page, and in programmes, publications or credits where you list a contact address.
• Keep it in place for the partnership period we agree on together.
• Use the mailbox in line with our Terms of Service, like every other kurd.im account.

There are no advertisements to run, no scripts to read and no content requirements. Showing the address is the promotion.

How to apply

Write to us with the subject "Sponsorship" and include:

• the name of your station, publication, organization or channel
• the address you would like (and one or two alternatives)
• links to where the address would appear - website, social media profiles
• a contact person, and a rough idea of your audience

We reply personally, usually within a few days, and agree the details with you directly before anything is set up.

Good to know

• A sponsorship is a complimentary subscription. It has no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
• Either side can end the partnership with reasonable notice. If the address is no longer shown publicly, we will contact you before making any change.
• When a partnership ends, your mail is never simply switched off: you can keep the same mailbox and address on a regular paid plan.
• As with every kurd.im account, an address cannot be renamed once it has been created.
